The Rolling Stones started out intending to be nothing more than the best blues band in Britain. But by the mid-’60s they found themselves at the top of the pop charts instead. And as the winds of change approached in the ‘70s, they charted a new direction and married their roots in the blues to the driving rhythms of rock and roll and served it up with plenty of edge and attitude.
The end result?
The Stones felt bold enough to proclaim themselves The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World,…and then they proceeded to prove it.
