Great Moments in Vinyl plays Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

It was the album that surprised everyone.  The golden god of rock had paired up with the reigning princess of bluegrass and country.  It seemed an unlikely combination.  But with the assistance of storied producer T Bone Burnett and an armload of choice material culled from the recesses of American music, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss crafted Raising Sand, an album that earned them five Grammy Awards.

For this shelter-in-place concert, GMiV veterans Scott Tipping and Ellie Kahn team up to find innovative ways to create the music of Raising Sand with the talents and instruments they have on hand during the pandemic lockdown. Meanwhile, GMiV storyteller William Lindsey Cochran unearths some nuggets about the songs and the singers who originally sang them.
